Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Information on a Homicide

I have information concerning a homicide that was commited by a member of the Hells Angels, I am afraid for my life if I report this to the District Attorney. What should I do? I've tried WETIP and nothing is being done. Now a second homicide by the same individual has transpired, he has loose lips.

Re: Information on a Homicide

You are not legally required to report any information unless you want to. If you want to, then I would recommend you find a way to report the information while remaining anonymous. Unless the police can promise you anonymity, I would tell them that you will not give them the information regarding some murders you know about.

Go to Kinko's and rent a public terminal. Write an anonymous letter on the public computer there. Recommend you leave no fingerprints, and do not lick the envelope or the stamp.

Mail your letter to: FBI, 11000 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 1700, Los Angeles, CA 90024.

Re: Information on a Homicide

It depends on how you want to handle the situation and how much you want to be involved.

If you truly know what your talking about and your information is accurate and reliable then go to the Sheriff's department in the county in which one of the murder's occurred.

There are several programs you may qualify for such the witness protection program and witnesses of violent crimes. Some of the programs may offer rewards for information which leads to an arrest and/or conviction.

Do not enter into this decision without thought. Murder is as serious as it gets and if these are murders for hire, you could find yourself part of a very volatile situation that may already be under investigation. Consider you situation, your family and make an informed decision based upon your feelings and thoughts. Once you decide do not look back go forward and live with your decision. Good luck.
