Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

How can I ask the judge to recall a warrant, and to put my case on the court calendar? I am a fugitive status but my goal is to go directly to the hearing instead of going in and getting arrested for probation violation and failure to appear.

In the past 20 years, my office has been recalling warrants for our clients. When we are retained on a case such as yours, we have 2 jobs....1) recall of the warrant and 2) attempt to get the judge to not want more jail or state prison time. I would advise contacting an experienced attorney. I wish you well.............David

It is best to have a criminal lawyer arrange all this for you. If you do it yourself, there is a good possibility that you will be jailed immediately and then have to deal with bail issues, etc. If you'd like to talk to me about doing this for you, don't hesitate to call. Good luck. Steve Mandell 310 393 0639

YOU don't.

If this is a misdemeanor warrant, an attorney can appear in court without you, probably work out some 'deal' to avoid you being taken into custody, and then the case can proceed normally.

If this is a felony warrant, an attorney may be able to negotiate a 'turn in' deal in advance with the prosecutor and judge that will allow what you seek, but if you go to court yourself, you will likely be taken into custody, booked, etc.

If serious about hiring counsel to help and represent you in this case, feel free to contact me. I've been doing these cases for years in all of SoCal.

If you don't have a lawyer and you want to risk being arrested you may go to the clerk's office and see if they will put it on calendar.
