what does jury trial vacated mean have the charges been dropped and the defendant will be released soon?

All it means is that the case is no longer has a trial date set. It doesn't necessarily mean the charges were dropped or that someone will be released. There could be another court date pending in which a new trial date will be set. Without looking at the docket enteries and minute orders it is impossible to tell for sure what is going on here.

I agree. It just means the jury trial will not go forward on the scheduled date.
