How long can a person be held in county jail, WITHOUT going before a judge and being charged?

Don't shoot me if I'm wrong, but I"m pretty sure it's 48 hours. Might be 96 hours. But absolutely not more than 3 days. I'm sure another attorney will come along and set me straight. :-)
