Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

While i was living in Australia i was charged with assult on a police officer. I pleaded not guilty and the case adjurned. At the time i was on a defacto visa and proir to my court date i broke up with my partner, canceled my visa and left the country.

I would like to knw what would happen if i returned to Australia now. I did not contact the courts or tell them i had left and my lawyer at the time is proving impossible to contact.

Thank you.

Your question is about the laws of Australia (and perhaps of a particular Australian state or territory), not California. You should contact one or more lawyers in the area where you were charged and ask them your question. You may want to contact immigration lawyers as well as criminal lawyers.

I agree with Mr. Hoffman. You need to talk to a lawyer in Australia.
