Marijuana Possession
My Friend was searched & caught at the San Diego Airport with very small amount of Marijuana. He was not arrested and was only given a citation. What kind of charges can he expect when he goes to court??

Thank you for your inquiry. In most cases, based upon Penal Code 1000, persons with small quantities of marijuana are usually eligible for diversion, which is an educational program that leads to a dismissal of charges.
If there are other factors, including failure in a prior diversion program, or if the quantity is enough to allege possession for sales, you'll want to meet with an attorney for a more in depth answer.
