Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Can I get a Marriage and family therapy license in California with a couple of 5150/5250 on my past record?

If I have 5-10 years of stability with a full recovery without any need for medication/therapy could I get a California mft license. I would be without any health problems at time of applying.

I checked the application on california board of behavioral health, and they don't ask for health history . I also saw that a 5150/5250 shouldn't come up on a livescan and fbi report, that the california behavioral board requires an applicant to pass,is this true? Thanks so much for your time!

5150 WILL 'come up' on FBI/DOJ background check of your record/rap sheet, as that kind of history is legally relevant for government licensing, security clearance and firearms purchase qualification, among others. An attorney can not give you the 'final word' on whether the licensing board will disqualify you or not. You need to contact them directly and discuss the full facts with them, including your recovery history. Your goal is to persuade them you are now suited and educationally qualified for licensing.
