Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Money was taken by police from my bedroom during a raid and it belonged to my mother. The raid happened because of my brother who the search warrant was for. How do I go about getting the money back?

If it was your mother's money, why are you trying to get it back? Shouldn't she get it back?
