Can someone with a pending felony leave the country for vacation?

Unless you've been specifically told you can't leave the country as part of the terms of your bail or own-recognizance release, it should be OK. What's wrong with this picture. You're charged with a felony, don't you have your own lawyer that you can ask? Haven't you retained a lawyer by now?
