Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Possession of a Weapon

I was arrested for carrying a gun on federal grounds. I have no previous record and the gun is registered to me. My court date is coming up and wanted to know what to expect. The arresting officers said I will probably just get a fine, but I want to be able to get my gun back as well. They said I might be able to get it, if I request it to the judge. Just wanted to know what I should do.

Re: Possession of a Weapon

What you should do is treat this as the serious criminal offense it is, with potential loss of firearms rights, jail and fines. Unless you are capable of effective legal self-representation in court, knowing and following all the rules and procedures, get a local criminal defense attorney experienced in firearms violations to help you minimize the damage and risk you face.
