Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

pre-preliminary hearing

I have a pre-preliminary hearing scheduled about a month and a half away on a felony posession charge. What is the purpose of a pre-prelim? Should I wait for the pre-prelim to notify the public defender that I want to file a motion to supress the evidence?

Re: pre-preliminary hearing

Yeah, right. Good luck getting the public defender to file a motion to suppress evidence. The public defender will tell you what you are going to plead guilty to, and how much time you will get. If you were expecting to get Perry Mason-quality representation for free, you have been watching too much TV.
