Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Probation release request

My son had appeared in court and the attorney who represented him is on probation by the bar and cannot be located. How can my son locate an attorney to help him complete this case without encountering to much additional expense. He needs to get this probation hearing settled it has been four years. He needs to get a job and obtain his CA license reinstatement?

Re: Probation release request

State bar should be able to locate the attorney if he still practices in California. If he cannot be located, I do not see what else you can do as far as getting his help or money back if indeed you paid him to represent you with respect to post-conviction matters such as termination of probation, etc.

If you are interested in retaining a private attorney and your case is in Southern California, please feel free to contact me directly. Another option would be to get a public defender's office to help you out.

Where are you located and what court is this in? Misdemeanor? Felony? Please contact me directly (and privately) at [email protected] so we can discuss this further.
