Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I received a ticket for poss. of less then an oz of marj from the california highway patrol in Morgan Hill Cali. I had one gram on me. They searched my car and found nothing else. I received a letter telling me that I have to be at the South County Courthouse on March 16, upon verification they told me that my actual court date is on the 16th of this month. I live in Phoenix, Az and have almost no money to get to cali.

Upon calling the court house they told me that I Had to be at court and there was no possibility to pay from out of state nor any way for me to get my court date changed and that the letter I received was not in their records.
