As a Former Deputy DA, I have learned that a conviction for this type of charge will follow you in your life. You should try to get the charges dropped, and will need a good lawyer to attempt to accomplish that. I wish you well........David Wallin

Whatever you do, you should not attempt to contact the DA or the officers prior to your arraignment. Only a lawyer should do that. I promise you that if you contact the DA you will be sorry afterwards. That why we have Miranda warnings that state that anything you say can be used against you. If you want to try to deal with it before your arraignment you need to hire an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney wait until your initial court appearance and an attorney witll be appointed to represent you. The attorney may be able to settle it on the day of the arraignment.
