Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Greetings, I would like to ask the following about reporting crimes.......

Could I be referred to the relevant codes, statutes, (?), if any, which bear upon the matter of the legal necessity of "reporting crimes"?

I mean, if I witness a crime, I wouldn't be able to ignore it?

THANK YOU!

Legally, you have no obligation to report a crime, nor to come to the aid of a victim, nor to defend yourself or others from crime.

Morally, you have a duty to do all the above that you are capable of doing. It would be an unbearable environment if we didn't. Just look at the decayed inner cities for what that would look like.
