Depends. You're not going to get anything but a useless 'range' of price unless you talk to the attorney you want. Some don't charge 'by the appearance' but rather a flat fee for the entire case. Here in SoCal, charges range from at least $1000 to $2500 or more per appearance expected to take up to a 1/2 day. Some attorney are more expensive, based upon experience. You get what you pay for. If it is in SoCal, and you're serious about getting counsel, feel free to contact me.

For most criminal defense attorneys, it doesn't work that way. You retain them to represent you on a case, not an hourly or "by the appearance" type arrangement. If an attorney appears in riminal court for you, they assume responsibility for the case and can't just "get off" the case easily.

I agree with Mr. Dane. Also, not all criminal defense lawyers charge similar rates.

Your question is like asking how much a restaurant charges for a meal. The answer might be $3 or $300, depending upon the restaurant, the time of day, and the type of food you order. The $3 meal might turn out to be a rip-off and the $300 meal might turn out to be worth every penny.
