Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Sentencing

I was arrested a couple of months ago for recieving stolen property. I have been out on bail while going to court. I have been offered two plea bargains and didn't take them. Trial date is now set for next week. I talked to my public defender and asked if I could still take a deal. I was told that I could and that I would do it on the trial date. I was wondering if once I plead guilty, could I be arrested right then or will they wait till sentencing?

Re: Sentencing

Talk to your PD.

You were already arrested. That's why you're in this mess. You want to know if you're going into custody when you plead guilty? Only your attorney can advise you, based on the deal & terms worked out.

You may be taken in right away or you may have time & a turn-in date.
