If you have been properly served a subpoena, you must obey it. Failure to do so is contempt of court. In theory, the judge can hold someone in jail until they appear and testify. Some cases have people staying in jail for 2-3 years.

An attorney may be able to advise you on this issue. Therefore, you should hire an attorney to explore what options you have.
