Like any misdemeanor, you can appear yourself, or an attorney can appear for you without your having to be there. Also like any misdemeanor, it is theoretically punishable by up to a year in county jail and up to a $10,000 fine, and what you would get depends on the facts of the case, how good of a case you have, how good of a lawyer you have, your prior(s), whether you are willing to go to trial, and what side of bed the DA woke up on.

You've been through the system before, you should know that this is a misdemeanor requiring you to appear in court and defend the charges. You can't just pay bail and walk away like a traffic ticket. With your record, especially if it was for drugs, your attorney will have to work hard to keep you out of jail. Feel free to contact me if interested in doing this right.

Thank you for your inquiry through Lawguru.com. Costs as far as fines, may vary depending on the facts of your case. Costs, as far as attorneys fees, vary wildly for a number of reasons.

You cannot pay the clerk for this type of case, you, or an attorney on your behalf, must appear on the date you were given in court, as this is a misdemeanor.

I hope this helps, but if you do have any further questions, feel free to email me directly at [email protected]. It's my pleasure to help in any way that I can.
