Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I share a car with someone who works for a company that is legally authorized in California to manufacture cannabis extracts. This person often stores large quantities, pounds, of marijuana in the car. When I am driving the car without this person, inside Califoria, am I in any legal jeopardy should I be stopped and the pounds be discovered? (I have a valid California medical marijuana card but no other authorizations). What is the extent of the jeopardy, if any (fines, prison, etc.)?

Police are going to think that whoever is driving the car is the one 'responsible' for its cargo contents. You don't work for that company, and therefore have no claim of 'authorization' to transport their product. Sounds like your 'friend' is being quite sloppy about the company and criminal code rules that would apply to regulated drugs & products. Bottom line is that I wouldn't get into that car by myself, and probably not even with him, when it contains over the limits allowed by your personal use 'card'. The potential risk is being charged with possession for sale of drugs, with felony prison time and asset forfeiture.
