What is the statues o f limitations for prosecuting an ex bookkeeper for stealing

It depends on how the stealing occurred and when the stealing was discovered. Your best bet is to contact the local sheriff or police department and request to speak to the white collar crimes division. They will take it from there. A private attorney can not file charges for criminal activities, only the government can do so. You can file, however, for the return of the funds. A criminal conviction always helps this type of case tremendously.

You may have three or more years to file criminal charges through the police. Civil suit probably must be filed within two years as a 'tort'. If serious about doing so, feel free to contact me for the legal help you'll need in such suit. .
