What?

The statute of limitations is how long the DA has to file charges. On most felonies, it is 3 years from the date of the crime.

I don't have the slightest idea what the rest of your question is about.

The statute of limitations can vary on different crimes. Generally, with a felony the statute of limitation is 3 years from the date of the crime. In regards to misdemeanors it is generally 1 year from the date of the crime. However, there are always exceptions and your question does not provide any facts or enough information for anyone to give you an accurate answer. It sounds like the officer wants to trick you into confessing by making you think you can no longer be prosecuted. Don't talk to them. Get a lawyer and talk to her instead. The police clearly believe you committed this crime, and they are not likely to just give up if this particular trick doesn't work.

I agree, you have an officer trying to trick you. There is NO 1.5 year statute of limitations. You have "exposure" for burglary; there is NO reason to be talking to the police.
