A subpoena was slid under my door of my room which i rent, Was I legally served?

No, a subpoena must be personally served to be valid. If the process server knew you were home, and you refused to take the papers, the court may rule the subpoena to be valid. There is case law on process servers having made valid service when the recipient refuses to take it. Chances are, the proof of service for the subpoena states you were personally served, so I would advise you not to ignore the subpoena.
