Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I have been having trouble searching for jobs, and also terrified when the employers state they are running background checks. I have a misdemeanor-theft and was convicted in September 2011 in he los Angeles county. Will that come up on the background check? Also, is it possible to MAIL IN a petition to file for dismissal on my case? I have the document and my public defender signed it

Yes it will show up on a background check. And, yes, it is possible to mail in the petition, but there are many little rules that you have to follow. If you don't follow them, your petition will not be filed and you'll have to start again. If you'd like to speak to me about having a lawyer do it for you, please don't hesitate to call me. Good luck. Steve Mandell 310 922 3983
