Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Violent felonies

My brother was convicted of a assault w/ deadly weapon with (GBI). He was sentence to 1 year county jail and 3 years formal adult probation. He completed both jail and probation succesfully. he received 1 strike for the assault, my question is... can he get that felony expunged from his record? This was his first offense..
