Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Right to vote

I pled guilty to a fellony grand theft charge now after doing my time which was 90 days in county jail and 3 years probation, I still have 1 year left, but will I ever be able to vote. It doesent seem fair that they take your right to vote from you for life when I have no priors and have done my time. I still have to pay taxes why can't I vote? Also cam I obtain a hunting license? And if so what would happen if a game warden asked for my license, would they know I was a fellon? What would happen to me for having a shotgun while hunting? Thank you for your time.

Re: Right to vote

You CAN vote!!! You never lost your right to vote. Anyone who told you that you couldn't vote was wrong. Frankly, I don't know about the hunting license, and I don't know about the gun ownership questions. Each of those questions requires some additional analysis. The game warden who asked for your license might know you were a felon, but probably wouldn't. Hard to tell. However, you might want to have a consultation with a criminal lawyer about the answers to these questions. The question that sounded the most urgent (the question about voting) has been aswered. Good luck, and vote wisely.
