Legal Question in Discrimination Law in California

I am 4 months pregnant and I have been suspend on time theft. I never did any type off time theft. When I told my employer that I was pregnant I was all of sudden doing a horrible job. My employer is telling I needed to have my uniform on when I clock in. Everyone else in my department does not follow this rule and I am being single out. Can my employer that is a large corporation get away with this?

The simple response is that it is unlawful for an employer to discriminate against an employee because she is pregnant. But it is not possible to offer a legal opinion on the merits of your claim based on one paragraph.

You should be keeping a diary of any events of note, indicating what is done and said, who witnessed it, document all important communications and gather together your performance reviews, company policies, etc. Then schedule an appointment with an experienced employment law attorney, in your area, and have the attorney review all of the facts. Only then, can you get a more informed legal opinion and discuss what your options may be to address the issue.
