Legal Question in Discrimination Law in California

Fat jokes at work

My employer has made several comments to me in regards to my weight ''do you think, you need that'' when im around food. My boss constantly post up pictures of fat people with my name and sometimes a picture of me next to them showing how similar we are in the hallways of work for all my coworkers to see and get a laugh at. Normally i have shuned it off but lately i have repeatedly tried to ask for a change of position for better hours, but he keeps giving them away to new unexpierenced people. What should i do, I currently work for scripps health in la jolla, and they say they are commited good employers.

Re: Fat jokes at work

The courts have held that weight is not something covered under the discrimination laws. So, file a complaint with your HR and demand intervention and correction of the situation. While it isn't illegal, it is poor management. Alternatively, look for other work in or out of the company.
