Legal Question in Discrimination Law in California

Popular Supermarket Chains Discriminates

I stoped to the Supermarket to buy a bottle of wine, The cashier refused to sell the wine to me saying that he could not sell the wine to me because he didn't believe that I was the same person as the person that was on the I.D. He asked me all sorts of questions basically making me feel that I had commited a crime, like I was using a fake I.d. I m a African-American woman, I think that added to his attidude towards me. What can I do? I did not use a fake ID I am 22 years old, the id picture was taken in 95 so yes my looks have changed and I don't think that it should be held against me neither should I have to show other forms of ID. Please help me I would like to file suit againist xxxxxxxx Supermarket Chain.

Try a new ID to make your life easier

State Liquor laws generally require and allowvendors of the spirits to satisfy themselvesas to the legal age of their customers. If yourpicture ID shows you as a kid and looks likesomeone else, its not the fault of the seller.I believe you would have a very difficult timein litigating against the seller on age discrim. If racial remarks were made, thats anothermatter. Check with local counsel.
