Legal Question in DUI Law in California

Is CA DUI penalties transferrable to Sydney Australia?

My husband may possibly have a job offer in Sydney Australia...unfortunately I am afraid my current situation will prevent it from happening...I am facing a second DUI charge here in California. We would be applying for a dual work visa, but I assume this would still make my chances of approval much slimer...although hopefully being a secondary applicant and skilled worker would help? If somehow I were able to get a visa, would it be possible to complete any classes or other actions ordered by the court in Australia? Thank you for your help.

There is no magic wand anyone can wave to help you; there is NO chance your charges can be 'transferred' out of county, other than possibly serving any imposed informal probation there. However, if the case is handled effectively, and your attorney can convince the prosecutor to cut you a 'special deal' other than slam you with a 2nd DUI conviction, you may be able to get your work papers. It's a slim chance, but your only one, unless you take the case to trial and win [unlikely]. If this is in SoCal and you're serious about getting counsel, feel free to contact me.
