Legal Question in DUI Law in California

For a DUI in California, is the start date of the 10 years it's on your record the day you received the DUI or the day you were convicted? I received mine on 12/20/05, but wasn't convicted until October 2006. I'm also not sure if I fall under the 7 or 10 year umbrella? Thanks!

It's from the date of the offense. Your DUI can be used as a "prior" in any new DUI prosecution until 12/20/2015.

The law was changed several years ago to allow the prosecution to use prior DUI convictions within ten years. The old seven year law would only apply to DUI arrests before the law was changed.
