Legal Question in DUI Law in California

i got my dui 14 years ago, can i get my lic. back.i received a dui in palo alto,ca. and serve 8months in elmwood jail.i have not attended any classes since 1997,i wasn't court ordered to do any classes.like i said its been 14 yrs now and i need to get rolling again legally.

f you got a first offense DUI fourteen years ago and were not required to take a court-ordered DUI class, you should have been able to walk into DMV after four months with proof of insurance (SR22) and pay a small reissue fee.

Since so much time has passed, you will probably have to re-apply as if you were getting your first license.

if DMV is turning you away, there has to be something else, like unpaid fines or child support. You will have to contact DMV and ask; if you were sitting in my office, that's what I'd do.
