Legal Question in DUI Law in California

I had a fine that I asked to do part in 171 comm serv hours for. I completed 104 and the person I was helping ended up back and forth in the hospital. Ended up needing open heart surgery. By time all was said and done, it was too late to finish hours, so I turned in my hours, thinking the balance would continue on with the balance I was making mo. paymts on and turn it into owing courts more money. Well, I realized I hadn't received a bill as usual for well over a month. I went online to pay vs mail checks and it said, I could not pay an there was a warrant out for me... OMG. I have never had 'anything' like this happen to me. I went in and got on calendar for first of Dec. it is called violation of probation. When I show up will I be arrested, detained or what? Never had any other issues with courts. I am a 59 yr old woman that lives alone and works to live/survive and very modestly at that. PLEASE help or advice. Co of Riverside

For you to handle this, you must simply turn yourself into the court, with or without an attorney, and explain your situation. Take proof of what you claim. The court will probably allow you additional time to complete your probation terms. Doing so voluntarily will result in a better outcome than you being brought in cuffs to court after arrest on the warrant. That will happen if you come in contact with law enforcement or customs anywhere.
