Legal Question in DUI Law in California

infraction DUI

I was convicted of an Infraction DUI in march of 2006 in merced county when i was 18 years old. I was wondering how bad it is being on my record, any information would be great. Is there anything I can do to have it removed from my record. also do need to put it on a resume if it asked if i was convicted of a dui or dwi, or if it asks if i have ever been convicted of a crime? please help

Re: infraction DUI

Were you convicted of 23136(a) or 23140(a) of the Vehicle Code? Those are the "infraction DUI" sections for a person under 21 driving with 0.01% or more (23136) or 0.05% or more (23140).

They can be expunged. They're not to the same level as a misdemeanor conviction for 23152 (a standard DUI).

Re: infraction DUI

It may be possible to 'expunge' it from your record by motion and application to the court. That would allow you to say 'no' to conviction on most private employment applications. Feel free to contact me if serious about doing so.

Re: infraction DUI

It is a misdemeanor crime conviction, not an infraction like a speeding ticket. It may be possible to 'expunge' it from your record by motion and application to the court. That would allow you to say 'no' to conviction on most private employment applications. Feel free to contact me if serious about doing so.
