Legal Question in DUI Law in California

License suspension

Arrested for a DUI and after all was through recieved a Wet Reckless. My concern is my lisence. I've been told at the scene of arrest, along with a ticket I should have also recived a pink temporary license. I was not given this form. I am also an AZ resident who was arrested in CA. Since I never recieved a license revoction slip, temporay license or any other paper relating to the DMV and I was charged with a Wet Reckless; is my license supended and do I need to obtain the SR-22 (i believe thats the form #) form from my insurence agency?

Re: License suspension

Assuming you were licensed in CA, then yes you should have recieved a one month temorary license at the time of your arrest. Also, even with a wet wreckless, your license would be suspended thereafter for a period of time depending on how many prior alcohol related offenses show up on your driving record. You should contact the DMV's mandatory action unit dealing with DUI's in Sacramento at(916) 657-6525. They are usually very helpful and will tell you the exact status of your CA license and what you need to do. Good luck to you.

Re: License suspension

Thanks for your inquiry. Along with Jay's excellent advice, I might suggest that you contact an Arizona attorney that handles license matters. They might be able to tell you how Arizona handles such matters, and advise you on what you need to do from there.

Since your license was issued from AZ, I would suggest starting in that state and see what you need to get a full valid license again.
