Legal Question in DUI Law in California

**My question is if I was charged with a 3-year probation, when does that probation begin? when I was convicted or when I received my license back?

Probation begins on the day you were convicted and terminates on its own (if you do all the stuff you're supposed to) exactly 3 years later. No one tells you that it is over - it just ends. Yours will end in July of 2001. It has nothing to do with your license, btw.

**And after my probation is over does that mean I am back to the same drinking and driving regulations that apply prior to receiving a DUI?

After probation ends, you will not be subject to the "terms and conditions" of probation. You will - almost - be back to the way life was before your DUI. The only difference is that you now have a "prior conviction" for DUI and if you get another one, the penalties will be WAY WORSE than the penalties you got in 2008.
