Legal Question in DUI Law in California

second offender program

my probation states that i must attend l8 months of the second offender program. i have signed up but because i have no car or driver's license, live in a very rural area in san diego county, i have no way to actually attend these meetings, which ofcourse puts me in a probation violation status. Do I have any alternatives what so ever in my predicament??

You may apply to the DMV for a provisional restricted license to drive to work and your meetings. YOu will have to prove that public transportaion is next to impossible. Since you're a second offender, the DMV will look closely at you to determine your case. Call the DMV and ask them for an application for restricted license.

You will also have to be able to prove that you have auto insurance coverage. The Insurance company will have to provide the dmv with proof of the insurance coverage.
