Question

Hope I can explain this right.....If a person chooses to leave the state and run from a charge, is there a limitation on how many years it will take for the charge to be dropped? in this case its on a DUI....say If the person left and came back in 5 to 10 years, would the warrant still be effective?

Re: Question

Warrants are forever, and are nationwide. You can run, but you can't hide, at least not if you think you will drive anywhere, enter or leave the country, take an airplace, apply for drivers license or govt welfare/benefits of any kind, etc. Time to grow up and be responsible. Hire an attorney, voluntarily turn yourself into the court through him, and he can negotiate a reasonable deal. Wait til you're arrested on the warrant and you face certain jail. Feel free to contact me if serious, and if the case is in SoCal.
