Legal Question in DUI Law in California

what year did california initiate D.U.I classes? My friend is having problems with a 24 year mold DUI cass he thought was finished, now there claiming he didnt complete his dui classes. I thought that classes were started in the 1990's, i may be wrong.

There have been classes for at least several decades, and many DA's and courts started requiring them as part of probation and plea bargains decades ago. Right or wrong, your understanding is not the issue. If the DMV says he has to complete a class, theirs is the only opinion that counts. To contest their ruling would require an expensive court procedure, which would be done with no promise of success. However, if serious about trying to do so, feel free to contact me.
