Legal Question in Elder Law in California

My Mom's boyfriend (James) who lived with her for 14 years was abused by his own children on his death bed. She was also abused by them. James was diagnosed with asbestos related cancer on Sept 15, 2009. He was admitted to the hospital on December 9, 2009. After he started feeling better his Doctor came and told him he could go home the next day. His Children had him taken to a hospice house and told him that it was a rehab center. James told everyone ((Doctor's, Nurse's, friend's, family) that he wanted to go home! His grandson came down and we all met with the Social Worker and it was decided that he should go home the next morning. That's when the real abuse started! His children yelled numerous times at my Mother in his room. His daughter sat on his bed rubbing him saying you have got to go to the lord tonight. James told her I will go when he calls me. She replied no don't wait for him, you go now! At 12:00 AM that night they were all in his room with all the lights on rubbing him saying you have got to die tonight, go to the lord tonight! They did this at least 100 times. The staff kicked them out of his room. The social Worker was called three times that night because of their behavior. They also took his wallet and would not give it back. This was witnessed by the Social Worker. James left everything in his will to his children. The will was set in stone years and years ago. James was so mad that his children knew if he got home things could change. My mother just wanted James to die at home peacefully. James died a horrible angry death! The sheriff department is investigating, but I doubt if any charges will come. Not only did my Mother have to deal with James death, She now plays it in her head over and over what they did to James. James always said his children only cared about his money, boy was that an understatement! Is their anything Mom can do?
