Legal Question in Elder Law in California

Trust From Grandmother

My mother is looking to create a trust for her Grandchildren in the Philipines. She would like to set asides a certain amount of money for them when they turn a certain age (maybe 18, maybe 30). What alternatives should she consider & is this something that she can do herself, or does it require a lawyer?

Re: Trust From Grandmother

It's better that an attorney familiar with trust law sets it up, as there are many alternatives to consider based on her goals and the grandchildrens' needs.

She can set up the trust herself, but it's an area where many mistakes could be made.

An attorney is only qualified to set-up a minor's trust. For assistance, call me directly at 1.619.222.3504 or e-mail me at the address below.
