Legal Question in Entertainment Law in California

stage name, llc name

I formed an llc for an online film business. That name contains the last name I have used as a stage name--name removed--So, for example, my company name is something such as Dickens Broadcasting and the stage name is Brett Dickens--name removed-- I don't have a checking account or anything like that with the stage name, it is only a nom de plume, and is used in interacting with other actors. Is this allowed, or should I, as a producer, use a stage name--name removed--that is wholly different from my company name--name removed--Or is another option a dba, or does it matter.

Re: stage name, llc name

Assuming that your nom de plume or stage name does not infringe on another's trademark or copyrights, this isn't an issue you need worry about. As long as the LLC is doing business under its own name, a ficitious business name statement (i.e., the "dba") is not needed.
