Legal Question in Entertainment Law in California

Writing a book - proprietary information

I would like to write a book about the place I've worked at for 20 years. What is the liability? I signed a proprietary information agreement - does that matter?

Re: Writing a book - proprietary information

Proprietory info agreements usually pertain to trade secrets and other information used and developed in your employment. An attorney should review the agreement to see exactly what it pertains to. You may be putting yourself at risk for a lawsuit if you disclose confidential information or upset the employer by disclosing facts which may cause damage to their reputation. Feel free to contact me for review of the agreement.
