Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am a 16 year old girl living in California. I want to move out of my mom's house, and move in with my dad. My dad has never been a major part of my life, and there was never a custody case (they weren't married or divorced). Do I have the right to choose where I want to live, if my mother does not consent to my decision?

My mother is not abusive, but our relationship has been less than great for the past 7 years. I do not know my father's living or financial situation.

As a minor, you do not have a right to choose. Your dad can try to get custody by filing documents with the court and the court may consider your desires.
