Legal Question in Family Law in California

Abstract of Judgment Civil/Abstract of Support Judgment

I have filed Forms FL-480 and

EJ-001 with the Superior Court of

California of San Diego. I have no

lawyer. The courts have accepted

the forms, but I have not heard from

them about what comes next. My

Ex owes ''past due'' alimony in the

amount of over $100,000 and

Marital Settlements in the amount of

over $40,000. Is there ''any

chance'' that the courts will assist

me in getting these ''past due''

amounts PAID?.... And What does

happen ''next'' after these forms are

accepted by the courts?

Thank You Very Much for your

answers.

Re: Abstract of Judgment Civil/Abstract of Support Judgment

The court does not "assist" you in collecting on the judgment they will only issue the abstracts and writs. I recently taught a seminar to attorneys on collection at the El Cajon courthouse. You may be able to get your attorney's fees paid by your husband on the collection. Please feel free to contact me concerning possibility of collection. Tell my staff I offered a free consultation. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
