Legal Question in Family Law in California

Adultery charges

I am now seperated from my husband of over 7 years. I met somebody else during my marriage. My husband filled for divorce in California. We had an agreement about our belongings and I already have the Divorce papers. Now my husband wants to take me to court for adultery, if I don't pay him a certain amount of money. The Divorce papers state that he wanted nothing. But now he got out of controll. Can he take me to court? he lives in California and I live still in NC. I know that adultery is not illegal in CA. But how about NC?

I don't know what to do anymore.

thank you
