at what age can a child choose which parent they really want to live with and can they have a choice if they want to see the other parent or does the courts force the child to see the other parent until they are 18?

The older and more mature the child the more consideration the court will give to the child's request. Only after the child reaches age 18 does the child have control of where they live and visit the other parent.
