Legal Question in Family Law in California

In Calif. my husband was divorced and had two children. Mother had custody. When I married him the children were adopted by there mothers New husband and name changed.

My husband just died after 40 yrs of marriage. Do these two children have any rights to his estate in Calif.

No. An adoption makes the birth parent a stranger for all legal purposes and the adoptive parent steps into the full legal relationship with the child as if it was their natural issue. The ex-wife's new husband is the only father the children have. They have no more claim on your deceases husband's estate than my kids do, unless of course he left a will giving them something.
