Legal Question in Family Law in California

In California, in a divorce case. Once everything is done, does either party have to file a final judgement? If so, what if it was not done, does this mean we are still legally married?

There has to be a final judgment order signed by the judge. If there is no final judgment in the case yet, then the divorce is not final and you're still married. If it was a default or uncontested case, then the party who's pursuing the case must file a Notice of Entry of Judgment and the proposed Judgment to the court before the judgment could be signed. If it was a contested divorce, then obviously the judge issued his or her ruling in a judgment. You should check your case file at the court.
