does a California San Joaquin county attorney have to provide notice to all parties when he resigned from a case? what if he didn't file a sub. of attorney of record with the court in my case to be relieved?

Did he file a motion to be relieved of counsel? If so, there may be an order relieving him of counsel and there would not necessarily be a Substitution of Attorney on file.

I agree with Ms. Bridgord. He would normally need either a substitution of attorney, an order relieving him as counsel of record, or an order to be relieved upon completion as a limited scope attorney.
